Basketry Gathering in Brisbane

The Australian Basketry Gathering was held near Brisbane in April 2017.  There were approx 150 weavers who had journeyed there (including three kiwis).  There was tutoring in the morning, free-style in the afternoon, plus journeys out to local art galleries and sight seeing spots.

I learned to weave with palm inflourescence, banana leaves, ...which makes me hungry to look at sourcing them locally.
