A beautiful sustainable return to the earth. Celebrate life’s natural cycle with our locally grown willow coffins from Pakawau, Golden Bay - for an elegant, meaningful farewell. Whether you are planning ahead or arranging a funeral, these gentle, sustainable options with their natural beauty ensure a peaceful return to the earth. Our coffins can be used as part of cremations, natural and traditional burials.
Eco-friendly & Biodegradable. Willow and the other materials decompose naturally, leaving no harmful traces and returning nutrients to the soil. The coffins are completely lined and ready. There is a base liner made from recycled wool, followed by a bio-degradable, waterproof, cornstarch layer and finally unbleached, fitted calico linings for the base and lid - plus a pillow. The lid features a stained wood panel for friends and family to write messages.
Handcrafted with Care. Each coffin is lovingly woven by three local women, ensuring a unique charm that honours your loved one in a deeply personal way with a unique, subtle combination of willowy colours: tan, chestnut, khaki and green.
Lightweight yet Strong. Willow’s natural strength provides a sturdy yet gentle resting place. It is easier to carry while maintaining dignity and grace. The construction is lightweight with an untreated ply base, six Manila rope handles and our coffins can carry upto 150 kgs in weight. For cremations we affix a Glide Panel (made of 12mm untreated ply) to the base of the Go Willow coffins so that they can glide along the rollers at fully or semi-automated cremators.

Commission your own Coffin
You can also commission a coffin for yourself or a loved one - whether it is needed soon or to be stored until sometime into the future.
You can decide on the willow colours and size of the coffin. You can provide the linings for us to affix, or decide to provide and affix the linings yourself.
We need approximately one month to make a coffin to your specifications. Prices do vary depending on what is required, but a quote can easily be provided.
Biers
The Dream Canoe willow bier is handwoven with lots of colour woven through -sometimes called a shroud bearer. It is designed to carry your loved one with natural grace. The Dream Canoe is lightweight yet strong, its organic curves cradle gently, blending love with earth-friendly beauty - whether you are planning a natural burial where it will return gently to the earth, a cremation or a traditional burial. The base is untreated ply and the top structure is woven willow. There are 6 strong Manila rope handles. We include a waterproof, biodegradable cornstarch base liner.
As we don’t provide shrouds, you must provide your own sheet, blanket for your loved one.

Willow Urns
Willow Urns and their lids are made specifically for each customer. The size, colour and range of materials are made to order.
White Urn
Made with white willow, maize cord with seagrass and antler toggles, keeping lid and base together.
Size: Base 20cms, central diameter 25cms , height 30cms. (Ashes capacity 2 litres). Price $300 without liner.
Turquoise Urn
This urn, made with natural and turquoise-dyed willows, has a fitted lid.
The pattern and colour of the willows can be altered to suit your needs.
