2026 GO WILD WITH WEAVING!  MATERIAL AND TOOLS INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS

LOOK FOR YOUR COURSE/S, AND SEE WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING WITH YOU

Usually a pen and paper would be useful to note down techniques and additional.  We don't support video or cameras in class, as it is more important to get your eyes and hands on the work - rather than through a machine.


GW1 and GW9 Go Weaving Wild with Jeanette Gray

Plant materials and stitching needles will be provided.  Please bring craft scissors or small snips/side cutters, and your water bottle.  Also please bring a larger bottle (like a wine bottle) than your water bottle so that you have space to put a liner in, if you want to. 

 

GW2. Go Stitching with Deb Price

Plant materials, stitching thread and a darning (stitching) needle will be provided.  

Please bring with you:
**Craft scissors or secateurs to cut tough fibres like cabbage tree leaves.
** A large sharp ended needle for shredding fibres (about 6-7cm long is comfortable to use)
**Embellishments like shells, feathers, beads, fancy threads, other little treasures etc (optional)

GW3 and GW10 Go Driftwood with Gabrielle Edmonds

Driftwood and Cane will be provided. 
Please bring with you:
** A battery operated hand drill as we screw the driftwood together at the start.  Strong craft scissors or secateurs to cut the cane,
** Optional: Any interesting materials like Jasmine, Muehlenbeckia that you think might weave well 
** Optional: Embellishments like shells, feathers, buttons, beads, fancy threads, other treasures from home.

** Optional: if you want to bring driftwood, please bring wood that will be at least 8cms long and at least 1cm wide that will join together to make a frame.



Also, please wear comfortable clothes and possibly a cushion to sit on -optional - for the floor or hard school chairs - wherever you feel most comfortable

GW4 and Gw11 Go Palm Play with Zimmi Forest
Flax and feathers provided.  Please bring with you some craft scissors and some pegs, and some small embellishments to attach.  If you want to bring an apron and a cushion if you want to sit on the floor…please do.

GW5 and GW15 Go Twining with Sarah Hornibrooke

Flax and Tools to share will be provided.

Students to bring: A strong BIG pair of sharp scissors and a very large eyed, sharp darning needle.

Some optional tools and equipment to bring are a plastic sheet or old towel and LARGE lockable craft knife.

 

GW6 Go Reed with Tamar Guse

All materials provided.

Please bring: Secateurs. And an old apron/old towel to protect your clothing

Optional:  Embellishments like colourful cloth strips, macramé cord or rope for texture

 

GW 12 Go Wall Hangar with Tamar Guse

All materials provided.

Please bring: Secateurs, a battery operated hand drill and 5mm drill bits - and an old apron/old towel to protect your clothing.

Optional:  Embellishments like colourful cloth strips, macramé cord or rope for texture

 

GW7 and Gw13 Go Copper with Jasmine Clark

Copper wire and copper patination will be provided.  

Please bring with you safety glasses, long nose pliers, side cutters and (disposable) face mask.

you can also bring embellishments like beads and paua and stones -ideally with holes through them 

 

GW8 Go Garlic and GW14 Go Willow with Nicola Basham

Cane or Willow and tools will be provided.

If you have a lockable knife or a sharp pair of secateurs, please bring them.  If not, dont worry.
